ini members
Interpretation, translation and editing in an international environment are very demanding. Therefore only highly qualified linguists may become ini members. All ini members share the passion for real communication and international understanding.
Usually ini interpreters have received an MA from the country of their C language or an MA or another formal qualification in interpretation or in C languages. And normally ini translators and editors have received an MA from the country of their C language or an MA or another formal qualification in translation or in C languages.
Applying for ini membership
Interested candidates must have the required language combination. They send their CV and certificates to the ini secretariat which reviews these documents. Promising candidates are asked to write
an essay about a topic related
to international relations. In the following interview, this essay is discussed. Then candidates participate in an interpretation, translation or editing test. Successful participants may become ini
members.
ini training
Interpreters, translators and editors must be ready to work on arrival at an organisation. Therefore ini members prepare their assignments carefully, studying the general background, structures and proceedings as well as the terminology of the organisation. ini helps its members to prepare for their tasks.
ini supervision
ini members remain in close contact with the ini secretariat. They inform the secretariat on their work experiences. There are regular conversations with a supervisor.
